The Center of Jewish Life on the NorthshoreThe Northshore Jewish Congregation, fondly known as the "NJC," is on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain about 30 miles from downtown New Orleans. Located in Mandeville, we are the only synagogue between Baton Rouge and Biloxi, Mississippi. We extend a warm welcome to all who are seeking a Jewish community built on the fundamental and enduring principles of Reform Judaism.
Shabbat Services are held every Friday evening, erev Shabbat, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. Erev Shabbat services are followed by an oneg, hosted by NJC congregants. We have an active Religious School and a Hebrew School open to the entire Jewish community. Visitors and newcomers to the area are encouraged to join us. If you have questions or would like to schedule a visit, please call our office at (985) 951-7976. Visit our Calendar page for a full worship schedule and special services and events. |
